Laughter is the BEST MEDICINE!!!

Today I thought I would lighten things up with some humorous health quotes!

Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon. ~Doug Larson

Eat right, exercise regularly, die anyway. ~Author Unknown

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing. ~Redd Foxx

Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint. ~Mark Twain

Red meat is not bad for you. Now blue-green meat, that's bad for you! ~Tommy Smothers

If I'd known I was going to live so long, I'd have taken better care of myself. ~Leon Eldred

AND MY FAVORITE QUOTE:

I drive way too fast to worry about cholesterol. ~Author Unknown

12 Questions to Ask your Cardiologist

QUESTIONS FOR YOUR CARDIOLOGIST
Surely your cardiologist holds a theory about the cause of heart disease. Ask your doctor whether his theory can answer the following questions:

1. Why do gorillas and other primates suffer heart disease similar to humans, but generally not other species?
2. Why does atherosclerotic plaque form only in arteries, (blood flowing from the heart), and not in veins, (blood flowing to the heart)?
3. Why does the atherosclerotic plaque form in arteries close to or on the surface of the heart, but not INSIDE the heart?
4. Why aren't infarctions common in the blood stream where the blood pools or moves slowly, such as in arteries of the ears, fingers or nose?
5. Why do more than 50% of the heart attack and strokes occur in people without any accepted cardiovascular risk factors?
6. Why do people with low cholesterol still suffer heart attacks and stroke?
7. Why do about half of the surgical heart procedures fail? (In other words, why do the plaques grow back with a vengeance?)
8. What did the cardiovascular mortality rate decline by almost half in the 1970s, after Linus Pauling's Vitamin C book become a best seller?
9. Why is cholesterol elevated in heart patients?
10. Why have major cholesterol-drug studies not released the raw data to scientists?
11. Why do drug companies routinely cut studies short just after mortality in the study groups begins to rise?
12. Why hasn't medical science investigated the Pauling/Rath theory?

The answers to these questions and more can be found in Practicing Medicine Without A License? The Story of the Linus Pauling Therapy for Heart Disease, a new book which explains the Pauling/Rath unified theory.

I do lots of research when it comes to getting off of my heart meds and healing in a natural homeopathic/holistic way. Through my belief system (my spirituality) and through natural remedies I believe we can heal our bodies 100% without chemicals/drugs. What keeps us from doing this is the fear based stuff that is put out through the pharmaceutical companies and trickles into our caretakers minds and our minds. We need to wake up!

For the next week I will post different remedies... be it herbs, minerals, vitamins that could play a huge role in fighting heart disease. Todays post comes from a therapy called Pauling Therapy. The questions I posted above are from the website. This therapy is based on the conclusion that VITAMIN C transforms stem cells into heart muscle.

Richard T. Lee, M.D., senior author of the Harvard study, says: "We have been taught for decades that when your heart cells are dead, they are dead and there is nothing we can do about it. We are excited about anything suggesting that we can grow more heart cells."

Heart patients who adopt the Pauling therapy usually get better, fast.

Organized medicine dismisses the Pauling/Rath claim a priori without comment or critique.

Medical science has not published studies or conducted public clinical trials. Not one.

Amazingly, Linus Pauling's claims have never been reported by the major media.

Heart disease is a mega-business. It is the number one killer of Americans, and it generates revenues for medicine and big pharma of more than $300 billion every year.

MY PERSONAL NOTE: I am a heart patient and I am always looking fr natural ways to heal. All info I post here is research and I have not personally experienced this at the time of the posting. However, I will share my personal experiences on different matters.

OUR HEART~ and the element Fire

Our heart burns with desire. We feel love and great emotion through this organ. A healthy heart is vital to healthy love. I have really been focused on cleaning up my heart and yesterday was my one year anniversary of my myocardial infarction. It is a new beginning for me today! I am now moving forward! I wrote a little poetic ditty on our hearts and the element fire! Enjoy!

My heart burns with passion, with desire
The flame flickers between both worlds
Love is igniting the spark of divinity
I see this flame in all of humanity
While some may flicker brighter, stronger
Even the faintest glow shines hope
I feel the fire and It burns out of control~

Heart Blessings~

Cholesterol Crystals and Heart Attack- new research

Here is some new research that just surfaced about cholesterol crystals. This information will change the way doctors and scientists look at heart disease. Excellent blog and I will continue to follow this. It was posted on 3/26/09.

For the first time ever, a Michigan State University researcher has shown cholesterol crystals can disrupt plaque in a patient's cardiovascular system, causing a heart attack or stroke.

The findings by a team led by George Abela, chief of the cardiology division in MSU's College of Human Medicine, could dramatically shift the way doctors and scientists approach cardiovascular attacks. Abela's findings are reported in the recent issue of the American Journal of Cardiology.

"Any time there is something completely new or unique in medical research, it is met with healthy skepticism," said Abela, who has been working with cholesterol crystals since 2001. "But we have found something that can help dramatically change how we treat heart disease".

What Abela and his team found is that as cholesterol builds up along the wall of an artery, it crystallizes from a liquid to a solid state and then expands.

"As the cholesterol crystallizes, two things can happen," Abela said. "If it's a big pool of cholesterol, it will expand, causing the 'cap' of the deposit to tear off in the arterial wall. Or the crystals, which are sharp, needle-like structures, poke their way through the cap covering the cholesterol deposit, like nails through wood".

The crystals then work their way into the bloodstream. It is the presence of this material, as well as damage to an artery, that disrupts plaque and puts the body's natural defense mechanism - clotting - into action, which can lead to dangerous, if not fatal, clots.........
